Negotiation, NOT surrender.

Why use the white flag? Very simple; we are at war both kinetically and via 5th and 6th generation  warfare. We have been and are actively being tortured by the COVID measures, mRNA bio-weapons, weaponization of courts/law enforcement against peaceful men and women, and we are being decimated by a premeditated economic attack on the people via the CRA, soaring mortgage rates and skyrocketing costs of living while politicians/bankers get rich on their bonuses. This is torture. This is a crime against humanity. This is a war crime.

The head of the military in Canada is the Governor General, and she has made it public that she will "talk to anybody", so here we are with a treaty, the truth and the law on our side. Even her introductory speech states these facts, mentions the laws of war and states that "institutions are the loadbearing walls of a civil society and that they remain trustworthy only as long as someone is willing to hold them accountable". Holding them accountable is OUR job, not hers.

Stop treating this like a matter for the courts or politicians. We are under attack, there is a war. Call it out and act accordingly.

White Flags, Civilian Protection, and the Law of War
A Plain-Language Summary

Purpose of This Document

This document summarizes how international law protects civilian non-combatants—especially those suffering under tyrannical governments—when they raise a white flag of parley during wartime. It is written for a general audience with no legal background and explains protections under the Geneva Conventions, the Hague Conventions, and the U.S. Department of Defense Law of War Manual, using real-world examples and clear language.

Who Are Civilian Non-Combatants?

Civilian non-combatants are people who are not members of armed forces and who are not taking part in fighting. Even during war, civilians remain protected under international law. They do not need permission to be civilians, and they do not lose protection simply because they live under or are harmed by a tyrannical government.

Why Civilians Use White Flags

Although civilians are already protected by law, many still raise white flags to clearly show peaceful intent. In chaotic combat environments, soldiers may struggle to distinguish civilians from fighters. A white flag is a universally recognized signal meaning: 'I am not a threat and wish to communicate peacefully.'

Legal Meaning of the White Flag

International law does not treat the white flag as a surrender of rights. Instead, it is a signal of parley—an intent to communicate, negotiate, or surrender peacefully. Attacking someone who is clearly and legitimately displaying a white flag is prohibited under the law of war.

Geneva Conventions Protections

The Geneva Conventions focus on protecting people rather than symbols. They protect civilians at all times unless they directly take part in hostilities. Common Article 3 prohibits violence against civilians and those who are hors de combat (out of the fight), including people who are surrendering or attempting peaceful communication.

Hague Conventions and the White Flag

The Hague Regulations of 1907 explicitly recognize the white flag. Article 32 defines a 'parlementaire'—a person authorized to communicate with the enemy—who is identified by a white flag. Such individuals may not be attacked while acting in good faith. Misusing a white flag for deception is strictly prohibited.

U.S. Law of War Manual §12.4 – Flag of Truce

Section 12.4 of the U.S. Department of Defense Law of War Manual explains the modern application of the white flag. It states that a white flag signals intent to communicate or surrender and requires opposing forces to refrain from attack. Forces may take security precautions, but deliberate attacks on legitimate white-flag bearers are unlawful.

Neutrality and §15.6 of the Law of War Manual

Section 15.6 addresses neutral persons. Civilians who are not acting on behalf of any fighting side may be treated as neutral intermediaries. Neutral civilians may approach under a white flag to communicate humanitarian or peace-related requests, as long as they do not provide military advantage or intelligence.

Real-World Examples of Successful White Flag Use

During World War II, large numbers of German soldiers surrendered to Allied forces using white flags or improvised white cloths. Allied troops were trained to stop firing, disarm the surrendering soldiers, and take them as prisoners of war. More recently, in modern conflicts such as Ukraine, white cloths tied to weapons or raised overhead have been used to signal surrender, often successfully preventing further violence.

Consequences of Attacking Legitimate White Flag Bearers

Attacking civilians or combatants who are clearly and legitimately displaying a white flag can constitute a war crime. Such acts may lead to criminal investigations, court-martial, international prosecution, and command responsibility for leaders who ordered or allowed the attack. The law treats intentional attacks on white-flag bearers as serious violations, not battlefield mistakes.

Key Conditions for Protection

Protection applies only when the white flag is used in good faith. Protection is lost if the flag is used deceptively, if hostile acts occur, or if individuals refuse lawful security instructions. However, fear or inconvenience does not justify attacking a legitimate white flag.

Plain-Language Conclusion

Civilian non-combatants—especially those harmed by tyrannical governments—remain protected under international law during war. When they raise a white flag of parley from a neutral position, the Geneva Conventions, the Hague Conventions, and the Law of War Manual all require restraint and humane treatment. The white flag does not guarantee negotiations, but it guarantees that the law demands recognition of peaceful intent and protection from attack.
